Tutorial #4 - How to Create and Schedule Services

Now that you’ve entered your business info, essential business data and imported your clients, you’re ready to start USING A-ListPro to manage the day-to-day operation of your business.  In this tutorial, we’ll demonstrate how to create and schedule client services. 

There are actually two ways to schedule a service in A-ListPro; from the Client Profile and from the “Additional Actions” icon (indicated by the (+) sign in the upper right hand corner of every screen).  For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll focus on creating services from the Client Profile. 

To access the Client Profile, tap the “Clients” icon (second from the left on the navigation bar) and then select a client from the list. The “Client Profile” is where all client data is entered, stored and accessed.  This includes all demographic data, as well as other business related data, service history, client goals and more.  To add or edit any information found in the client record, tap the “Edit” button in the upper right corner. If you have not done so already, assign a Client Category, Preferred (Service) Location and be sure the assigned Industry is correct. Scrolling down, notice the phone number and email cells, client address, memo field, and more.  In the “Additional Info” area, you can create and assign Tasks, Events, Notes, Images and more to this client.  Update the Client information as needed and hit “Done” to return to the Client Profile screen.


From the Client Profile screen, notice the large “Add Service” and “Add Payment” buttons on the bottom of the screen.

Tap the “Add Service” button to reveal the “New Service” screen.  Select a “Service Type” from the list of available Service Descriptions, noting that the “Quantity” defaults to “1”.  To sell this client a bundle or package of services, tap into the quantity field and increase the value. The total price in the “Price” field will be the unit price of the service multiplied by the quantity.  You may edit the total price as desired.  Add the Service Location and the Start Date / Time and End Date / Time.  You can also create a repeating service (i.e., every M-W-F at 2 pm), by tapping the Repeat cell, selecting the appropriate days and entering the Repeat End Date,  

If you need to double check your calendar before scheduling this service, tap the “View Calendar” button. Finally, you can enter an “Alert” (i.e., setting an alarm on your phone 30-minutes prior the scheduled date / time) and/or add a “Memo” if there is any important information you want to associate with this service.

When you’ve entered all the necessary information for this service, tap the “Done” button.  The Service(s) will be displayed on the Client Profile (as well as on the Dashboard on the day of the service), with an orange completion slider indicating the status of the service – “Scheduled”.  When you have performed the service for this client, a simple tap of the slider will activate a satisfying completion checkmark and change the color to blue.

Tracking Client Services through their normal lifecycle – from Purchased to Scheduled to Completed, Billed and Paid – is one of the foundations of A-ListPro.  In the next tutorial, we’ll discuss how to use the Dashboard to manage your day, complete services and initiate billing and payment processing.
